FULTON – A buffet fundraiser for a Florida girl fighting brain cancer will be Feb. 22 at Manny’s Too, 305 11th Ave.
Harper Christian, 9, is the granddaughter of Johnna and Tom Richardson of Thomson, and the daughter of Shane Christian and Daniyal Richardson, a Savanna native. Harper was diagnosed on Oct. 22 with medullablastoma, a brain tumor that grows at the base of the skull.
According to a GoFundMe post, Harper’s tumor was blocking her spinal fluid from draining. It was removed on Oct. 24, and she then underwent 8 weeks of radiation at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She now faces seven 28-day cycles of chemotherapy at St. Jude.
The fundraiser begins at 5 p.m. at Manny’s. A pizza and taco buffet, including a fountain drink, will cost $12. Gift baskets, gift certificates and other items will be raffled or auctioned off. The Corey Booth Project will provide music. All proceeds will be used for Harper’s medical bills and travel expenses.
